This is an Australian Black Swan - I found him at Six Flags Great Adventure Wild Safari in NJ. I only took the shot of part of his body because I wanted to direct the viewer`s attention towards the texture and light on the bird`s neck feathers. I also wanted to get a closer shot of the red eye and beak. Usual Equipment!

Nice catch light in the eye and wonderful feather detail. Colors look good, too. wondering what the white patch on the beak is....?

Thank you for pointing that out Ms. Kipp. The white patch is part of the Black Swans natural coloring.

It is no easy task to bring out the detail in a black subject let alone manage to get a catchlight in the eye. I think you done very well with this Todd IMHO
