Your Idea was great. It seems to me that the Image have a little lake of sharpness and perhaps more brightness, chiefly in the first plan, THE BOOK. If the Book was a little more to the right, with simetrical framing, I think that the balance would be still better.

The details of this shot are just wonderful...but I think if the Bible (?) was placed a little more centrally it would give a nicer balance, IMHO.
Still, the silent, anticipatory mood and DOF are lovely with nice details to explore.
