I am not sure how far one can go when a straight photograph becomes no longer photography. This image started as a straight picture of a nose cone on a Corsair airplane taken at Duxford Museum. I manipulated it in photoshop, saw the potential for a graphic image, changed a few colours added a small detail and hey-presto! What do you think?
