The is GREAT! It also brings many memories. I remember when I was younger and I too close to a swan`s nest (where there were signets - ???) I was chased down and nipped by the swan. I think swans are among the most graceful of all creatures (sort of like the Bohemian Waxwing or the Paleated Woodpecker). There is lots to like in this photo. The watchfullness of the adult. The curiosity of the child. The begging of the swans. The beautiful dark sky in the background... Thanks for such a nice photograph!

Anatoli, Vy znaete, chto nazvanie po-angliyski prostavili tol`ko dlya russkoy versii saita? T.e. v angliyskoy versii eto foto "Untitled" - Bez nazvaniya.

I had been surprised by the reactions of the people to this photo, calling it sweet, lovely, and so on. Then, I realized that in the English version of the site it is "Untitled". The author has titled it "Help!!!" and his comment reads: "After the next portion razlitoj petroleum, in Novorossisk to port. Swans ask the help people: " Clean us... " These are swans affected by an oil spill.....

How sad! Thank you Alenka! I thought perhaps the colored feathers were a natural part of their plumage.
:-(

That changes my impression but not my opinion. I still then the photo is great but now I am sad - We have had several oil spill accident in the states. No fun for the animals that people didn`t think about before the accident. Thanks Anatoli and thanks Alenka - I am sorry that I didn`t understand.

A, thanks for explaining this image, but believe or not, I knew the wings on these birds did not look right. The people look as if they do not know what to do. But at least they were there, and were looking and I hope thinking. Just makes me want to get out my soap and water, fix what has gone wrong in this world. Anatoli...another great image in my eyes.

I think feeding children to the swans is illegal - pretty cute smile

Люди не только приходили посмотреть на несчастных птиц. Некоторые забирали лебедей домой, отмывали их, как могли. Потом приносили на берег моря и прощались, как с родными.
People not only came to look at unfortunate birds. Some took away swans home, washed them as might. Then brought on seacoast and said goodbye, as to relatives.
