Centering the railroad tracks does work well here. Loss of definition at the forefront may be the photographers choice but IMO possibly I would have reversed the process and had the tracks fade out as you went further.
Harvey, thanks a lot for your comment. I have deliberately blurred the tracks at the forefront a bit, because they looked too heavy (well, they are heavy ). I did not want them to be the main object, but rather used them to create the sense of perspective.
Ah, yeah, I knew even before reading your comment that somewhere down under, deep down below and far away this road is somehow connected with Russia Even the landscape reveals something indiscernibly Russian. Oh, and the photograph itself, with Russian underpinings or not, is really very nice. (don`t forget to mention what equipment was used, please)
Аленка К.: Well, the link to Russia exists, but it was not the primary reason why I made this photo. More importantly, the evening was really perfect for photography, and this railroad was just a few minutes walk from my house . The equipment is always the same: Canon PowerShot S10 and a bit of Paint Shot Pro at home. Here I tried a new technique of using two identical layers - one very sharp, and the other somewhat blurred, with 40-50% transparency. Then I shifted the blurred layer one or two pixels down.
I think this one is outstanding, wonderful perspective, and thanks for explaining how you did it! Great work.
