It is the memorie of Aleksandr Pushkin (1799-1837) and his wife we see. It is in the Arabat street in Moscow how is close for traffic. Pushkin’s house is the opposite of the memory and this is a street for artists.
Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin was born on May 26, 1799, in Moscow. His father`s family traced its lineage back seven hundred years, to the historical beginnings of the Russian state. The Pushkin family had a history of being at odds with the established authority. Aleksandr Pushkin shared that fate, both as a writer and in his personal life. His mother`s family was The Life of Aleksandr Pushkin (1799-1837) as descended from an Ethiopian prince named Ibrahim Hannibal. Prince Hannibal had come to Russia during the reign of Peter the Great, and in due course he became an important general in the Russian army. So outstanding was his service to the state that Tsar Peter conferred nobility on Hannibal and his descendants. From a social point of view, Pushkin`s descent made him a combination of the "old" nobility of family and the "new" nobility, created by Peter the Great, of service to the state.

Best wishes from Bjornik in Trondheim

A most beautiful sculpture - I like how they are being "framed" by the tree and the pattern of the fence in the background.
Very well done, dear Natalia!

Замечательное фото! Прекрасное название!
Но сочетание Пушкин - ксерокс (хоть и на заднем плане) ???
Желаю успехов!

Natalia Norland Natalia Norland #10 mon 3 Nov 2003 00:38

Сочетание Пушкин-ксерокс, далеко не лучшее сочетание. Я полностью согласна. Но , c`est la vie.- Жизнь такова.
