Complete symmetry is not always wise, but the unusual arrangement of the coloured pencils works very well here. Slightly concerned about the soft focus, but maybe that helps give a 3-D feel. Full marks for overall impact!
In flowers, insects and nature macros, DOF we can get away with a bit more. In this type of shot though we need the max we can get because of the subjects in this shot. Very, very clever eye and ideas here, just a fraction more DOF to get all the pencil tips in would make this shot near perfect IMHO. It is very hard to get max DOF with subjects like these so we need to tolerate a bit more with macro for this. Still excellent.
Did you use your max F-stop ????
Anyway still a great macro so dont get me wrong, I would like to know the F-stop used though if you can please.
Danny Sorry... I don`t know what is DOF & F-stop. DOF - Depth of Focus? Yes?.. F-stop - what is it?.. I suppose I`ll be able to find translation and answer your question fully but I`ll do it a few days after because I have 4 hours only before my flight and I will be absent till monday...
But in any case I can say the details of this shot: 1/4sec, F2.8, 34mm, Olympus C2500, Macro Mode.
