I really like the position of the flowers and the angle
you shot these at. I like the tranquillity atmosphere
you kept in this shot. Really marvellous colors.

Cliff, black background in a greenhouse, or ambient window light for most of your work?

cliff rosbotham cliff rosbotham #14 Wed 17 Aug 2005 00:57

3x2 board painted with matt blackboard paint, and ambient window light, no reflectors as it kills the shadows falling on the flowers.

Don't you use Photoshop to darken background? I can't believe! Your macros are really perfect!

cliff rosbotham cliff rosbotham #30 Wed 17 Aug 2005 10:55

Thank you Igor,
I angle the leading edge of the board into the light and adjust the curtains allowing only a shaft of light to fall on the flowers, background takes care of itself, shutter speeds are normally 1/4 to 1/2 second and ev is usually f.4. White balance set to cloudy and ev compensation at +0.7 noise reduction on.
kind regards
